- Internet TV
- Internet

Lynx Television and Data Distribution System

Like the Lynx Television Distribution System, the Lynx Television and Data Distribution System uses RF baluns to deliver television on Cat 5e/6 cable. The television signal is delivered on pair four, so the other pairs can be used for other services.
RF baluns deliver the television signals on the copper pathway in the network cabling, without using any bandwidth on the network itself.
The unit consists of two 8 port hubs mounted side by side. RF signals enter the hub through the two F connectors on the back side.
Then each signal is split 8 ways and sent to RF baluns. The resulting “balanced” signals are delivered to the RJ-45 jacks on the front of the hub.
In addition 100 BaseT Ethernet services enter the back of the hub via the RJ-45 jacks and pass through to the corresponding RJ-45 jacks on the front of the hub.

Lynx converters installed at the point of use convert the RF signal back to coaxial form for delivery to the F connector on the back of the television. The other services pass through to the RJ-45 jack on the front of the converter.
The converters are available in a decora style wallplate or in a freestanding form factor for external use.
