Lynx® Broadband Technical Information

The Lynx Television Network is a passive (unpowered) device, so external amplifiers are almost always needed to compensate for cable and insertion losses.  One amplifier can typically support up to 24 TVs.  The system is “balanced” by sorting the runs by distance as shown below:

Technical Information

We typically recommend a Blonder Tongue BIDA 550-30 amplifier, which provides 33 dB of gain and handles frequencies up to 550 MHz (channel 78).  However, if you need more channels or have an input signal lower than16 dB another amplifier might be more appropriate.  See amplifier and system design guidelines.
